We are a praying church and although we all have our individual prayer times, we love to pray together. Here at Cornerstone, we have an intercessory prayer team but everyone is at some time or another part of a prayer session. The Prayer team at Cornerstone encourages all members to corporately seek God regarding individual needs, dreams and visions.

Cornerstone's mission is upheld by prayer. The Luchi story is a testimony to answered prayer. The youth group was introduced to partnership with the Holy Spirit through prayer on their Alpha day away.

"Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him."
1 John 5:14-15 (NKJV)

Sunday 11th6.30am-7.30am prayers @ CCC & Midday: Feasting together

Please be there for as much as you can, but especially on Wednesay.

We fast primarily to help us focus on God. We see this happen in the book of Acts when the church in Antioch were making key decisions. As they fasted, the Holy Spirit spoke and inspired fresh vision for Paul and Barnabas. As Elders, we are hoping that this time of fasting will lead to a fresh sense of calling in all areas of your life. Just like the Antioch church, we want to meet with you and pray for you, so do get along when you can to the prayer times.

Fasting can also be a time when we deal with the spiritual opposition to our call. We see this most clearly with Jesus in his 40 day fast in the wilderness. He goes without food and the devil arrives to press Jesus in the areas of natural appetite: for sensual satisfaction/ for wealth/ for glory. Going without food is a really practical way of exposing how we are led by the body and the natural mind. For this reason fasting is a wonderful opportunity to humble ourselves and allow more of God’s love and power to flow through us. Isaiah 58 is worth a read to understand the heart of fasting.

The scripture we’ve chosen to focus on during this time is Matthew 28.19

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

Monday we will focus on GO and praying for a fully mobilised church

Tuesday we will focus on MAKE DISCIPLES and effective workplace ministry

Wednesday we will be focusing on DISCIPLE NATIONS and the call to be nation shapers

Thursday we will look at restoring the ministry of FATHER in our lives and families

Friday we will focus on how we present the gospel of the SON publicly

Saturday we will be praying for the power of the HOLY SPIRIT on every person.

Sunday we will finish with a bring and share feast after the service, so bring some food to share!
